Goal Setting
Share
Undiagnosed, but in hindsight, it's depression. Unchecked anxiety of interacting with people can lead you to withdraw from the world. Traumatic past has you giving up on your dreams, your outlook bleak because you don't believe in yourself or in a future. How grim.
How do you get out of that?
You change your thinking. You start believing in yourself, in what you want to see. You are the change strong enough to bring your dreams into fruition.
So what is goal setting? It's a foreign concept when you transition from surviving to living. Living was the goal. But now, what does thriving look like to you?
I recently imagined a goal I'd love to achieve. Not only did it "feel" right, I wanted to commit to that goal. I write this in reflection because I've been asked what does my dream life look like. I've been wandering for a while, just enjoying while I can because sometimes, that's all that is you have to do. Just enjoy. Be the joy. And bring the joy.
The vision wasn't clear to me before. Even as I was trying to enjoy the moment, I knew I wanted to bring light to a vision resting somewhere within me. I wanted to illuminate my cavernous dreams, set light to a fire, and blaze a trail to the universe living in inside me that I want to share with the world. And the catalyst to the plan? A goal I wanted to achieve.
With the tools provided to us, we break down those goals to actionable steps everyday. And with that, we blaze the trail we set before ourselves. Don't forget to enjoy it.
